The Great Lakes - St. Lawrence Lowland Continued...


This Region's Climate

The climate is essentially a humid continental climate.It is humid because of the presence of the Great Lakes. The Great Lakes tend to cool the temperature during the summer. By storing heat, the Great Lakes warm the surrounding areas in winter. Winters vary from cool to cold, and summers from warm to hot.

2. What does humid mean? Explain in your own words using 3-5 sentences.

It means wet a little bit. Not dry but the Humidity is higher than usual. Sililar to Moistured.

3. How can the Great Lakes cool the temperature during the summer? What do you think happens?

Great lakes is full of waters,so in the cool days, they can absorb the cool temperature. And in hot days, they pull the cool temperature out. This is the phisical explanation. The Great lakes region is always convinient than the other places.

4. Find a photograph of Lake Michigan. Explain what you see in the picture using 3-5 sentences. This picture is the sunrise on Lake Michigan. The sun hasn't appeared yet. It is hidden in the clouds.From this shore that is full of big rocks, I can see this sight clearly.

5. Find a photograph of Lake Superior. Explain what you see in the picture using 3-5 sentences.
I can see a dangerous cliff, this is very like a spot in movies! I'm imaginning a scene- a man is chased by some indians...and jumps out of this cliff-- Lake Superior is his hidden place. From the picture, I can see the shore is not so deep.


6. Find a photograph of Lake Erie. Explain what you see in the picture using 3-5 sentences.


]This sunrise is different from the Lake Michigan. This sun is already on the sea line. The little light through the air is very soft, but enough to light up the colored winds. The tree is taken in backlight, the black shadow tells the shape.




7. Find a photograph of Lake Huron. Explain what you see in the picture using 3-5 sentences. The water in this lake is clear. You can see the shadow of the tiny white tower. Why not use it to make some Mineral water. Haha, I wish this good environment could keep forever.

8. Find a photograph of Lake Ontario. Explain what you see in the picture using 3-5 sentences.

From this picture, I think this lake isn't so deep. So clear! That I can see 2 colors of the lake. The good environment is the key. See that blue sky with soft winds~ Yummy~

9. Why is this region a good place for agriculture? Tell me three reasons and explain in 5-8 sentences.

1. Agriculture has some strict condition. These place are full of great water, 5 lakes are enough for the land to grow things.

2.This soil must be very good. Otherwise the products cannot be sold.

3.Not many people living, so the land havn't been polluted yet. And Canadian people are very careful on protecting the environment.

10. What did you learn today? Explain in 5-8 sentence

I feel there's nothing different between these 5 lakes... From the map,They are located in the northwest of Canada. From those picture, I feel this land is very fertile, there must be variety of products grown. These spots are very important to Canada, so I deduce people there are very careful on protecting. The lakes are so clear! We must learn from Canada.

If I can live in this place, it's my honor. Canada is full of natural things. Comparing to the other countries, Canada is less polluted. These 5 lakes can prove it. I'm looking forward to live there and watch the sunrise one day.
