Great lakes
Five great lakes are both my favourite places to live. I love water, the lakes looks beautiful. We've found some pictures of the region, I think the sunset and the sunrise are magnificent! The brilliant sun shines softly, if this sun can be with me everyday, I would be very energetic. I can go to escarpment for adventuring,glaciations for viewing the ice. The mixed-forest would be my living place. I want to be with nature.

5. This river is very important to Canadian history because an explorer named "Jacques Cartier" wanted to use it to get to China! Find a picture of Jacques Cartier and post it here.

6. On St. Lawrence's Day in 1535, Jacques Cartier gave the saint's name to one small bay near the river's mouth, but by 1600, it was used to describe the entire river. Find a picture of Saint Laurence, the saint the river was named after. Post it and explain what you see in the picture using 3-5 sentences!The river is in the west side of Gulf of St Lawrence. Saint Laurence explored from the Atlantic Ocean, went west around the New foundland, after go around the Gulf, he went back. The river named by him is right inside of the Gulf.

This geese is so~amazing! Though he lives in such dirty lake, he is still white as snow! This geese is slimmer than those geese I have seen, so cute also. I like the little eyes, the white features. I'm looking forward to have one. (to feed as a pet or cook as a roaster geese.

I learnt a new region which is called St. Lawrence. A man called Saint Laurence. He was a great man, he did lots of things for human. I really admire this famous explorer. The fish in the river is big, the geese there is beautiful~

Because he was the first person who found this river. Explorers are always honorous

I don't know what they think. But I'd like to live there. I can fish when I am bored, and I can keep a geese for pet(take it's eggs). And places near water are rich.

Yes, 2 rivers. Yellow river and Long river. The first Chinese lived here. And because of the river,the transportation was developed, the people there were happy. They walked along the river and found the ocean. This helped them to communicate with the foreign country.

The beginning of the river is clean, but the end is really dirty.

This forest is near a lake. Trees are very tall, they are colored in deep green. Not only trees here, but also some grass. I can see the forest in the lake！ ^_^

What kind of trees are there in this region. Mix forest has both decidous and coniferous trees. I know how maple, beech, oak,spruce, pine and cedar looks like. I like this kind of mixed trees, they looks colorful. It is amazing that those trees can live together. This region must have a lot of history, because in these pictures, the trees are tall and thick. Nature is amazing-- So does human. What I want to do is to protect the environment here. So that oneday i go to Canada, I can visit this spot!

Spruce tree. Because it is the Christmas tree! I have this tree with white color at home( Of course it is fake tree). I like the triangle shape of this tree. And I enjoy the X'mas, the process of decorating the Christmas tree, it is a warm scene. This tree means alot to me.

This Region's Climate

The climate is essentially a humid continental climate.It is humid because of the presence of the Great Lakes. The Great Lakes tend to cool the temperature during the summer. By storing heat, the Great Lakes warm the surrounding areas in winter. Winters vary from cool to cold, and summers from warm to hot.

It means wet a little bit. Not dry but the Humidity is higher than usual. Sililar to Moistured.

Great lakes is full of waters,so in the cool days, they can absorb the cool temperature. And in hot days, they pull the cool temperature out. This is the phisical explanation. The Great lakes region is always convinient than the other places.

4. Find a photograph of Lake Michigan. Explain what you see in the picture using 3-5 sentences. This picture is the sunrise on Lake Michigan. The sun hasn't appeared yet. It is hidden in the clouds.From this shore that is full of big rocks, I can see this sight clearly.

I can see a dangerous cliff, this is very like a spot in movies! I'm imaginning a scene- a man is chased by some indians...and jumps out of this cliff-- Lake Superior is his hidden place. From the picture, I can see the shore is not so deep.

]This sunrise is different from the Lake Michigan. This sun is already on the sea line. The little light through the air is very soft, but enough to light up the colored winds. The tree is taken in backlight, the black shadow tells the shape.

7. Find a photograph of Lake Huron. Explain what you see in the picture using 3-5 sentences. The water in this lake is clear. You can see the shadow of the tiny white tower. Why not use it to make some Mineral water. Haha, I wish this good environment could keep forever.

From this picture, I think this lake isn't so deep. So clear! That I can see 2 colors of the lake. The good environment is the key. See that blue sky with soft winds~ Yummy~

1. Agriculture has some strict condition. These place are full of great water, 5 lakes are enough for the land to grow things.

2.This soil must be very good. Otherwise the products cannot be sold.

3.Not many people living, so the land havn't been polluted yet. And Canadian people are very careful on protecting the environment.

I feel there's nothing different between these 5 lakes... From the map,They are located in the northwest of Canada. From those picture, I feel this land is very fertile, there must be variety of products grown. These spots are very important to Canada, so I deduce people there are very careful on protecting. The lakes are so clear! We must learn from Canada.

The Great Lakes - St. Lawrence Lowland is the smallest geographical region in Canada. It includes the triangle formed by Lakes Huron, Ontario, and Erie.

This is a picture of this region. It is a beautiful lake. The great lakes is one of the most famous spot in Canada, now I see how wonderful it is. Those red maple trees are grown in the bank, absorbing the good water in the lake. The land is moistured because of the great nature.

I see a big area of grass. And this area is not flat as usual, it is rolling, like there are many floors but go down peacefully. This can be a convinient place for golf! And the picture is very helpful for my tiring eyes.

Those place full of ice. The water are frozen because of the cold weather,the big area of ice make up a wall of ice. This is called glaciation.

Mountains are white in this place. On the top of the mountain,there are snow/ice covering. The ground is also frozen. This is a cool place.

Flat plains are very flat...The plains are always located in somewhere low. So in this picture, the clouds seems high up in the sky. The plain is fertile that people grows here.

This water looks cool. Children is playing in the river happilly. The river looks so soft to people, running very slowly and moisturing the trees.

The great lake is really great! It is large as ocean. The brink is full of rocks,sometimes mountains. This is different from ocean. It doesn't show the largest side, but i think it is very large.

It is the smallest region in Canada, but the lake is really big. And it includes 5 big lakes. This place includes different region. That is a wonderful place!

Maybe the climate in this area formed the glaciation. These glaciation flew from cold place and remained here. And the hot weather made those glaciation melted, became water.

The Arctic Coastal Plains

The Arctic Coastal Plains is another region of Canada.
The region in Canada is in the north so this area has cold and snowy winters.
It is different from the Appalachian Region. The Yukon Territories, Northwest Territories and Nunavut have a little bit of this region!

It is in the north side of Canada,arctic pole maybe... So I must feel very cold. But I still love it because I like those lovely animals, especially polar bears and arctic foxes. In Alaska, it's easy to see sunset and sunrise,in winter,it is dark for months. This unusual habit may make me crazy.

10. If you had to go to the Arctic Coastal Plains, what would you bring with you? (3-5 sentences)

For the freezing temperature, I must bring my coat-the thickest one. Also like boots and those stuffs that can keep me warm. I would bring camera also, to record my fantastic trip. Also some first-aid medicine... I'm afraid of wolves.

Because it's all about Canada. Maybe i will go to Canada one day, at that time, these regions are good spots for me. As we are learning about these regions, we are coming closer to Canada.

Evaluation

This 8 weeks are really full. I learnt the geography of Canada, provinces and territories, capital cities, a little history, some words, Appalachian region, climate and the types of forests. Because of this easy learning style,( class by class, not many contant) I think I learn these knowledge quickly. Not so much work to do, but really learnt a lot. Those new words were a challenge for me, but according to the reviewing paper( Drawing pictures), I have memorized all.
I did all the homework in time, the mark of the tests were not so bad.

2. Give yourself a mark out of 10. How much have you worked in class? Do you try your best?
BE HONEST!
I worked really hard, as hard as i can. On the test, I got some very simple mistakes, such as drawing the dots incorrect. I am not so careful when i reviewed them. Not comparing to others, for me, I can do better.
